Education in Sidhpur

Sidhpur is a very small town. So there are very less number of schools in the town. It includes Swaminarayan Gurukul, Agakhan School, M.P. , L.S. Higher Sec. School, Burhani etc. Out of those L.S. Higher Sec. School is the oldest and the only Science School in Sidhpur. It was built by Britishers.

There is only one college in Sidhpur. It offers BA and BCom degree.

Zampalipol very famous bazaar of Sidhpur. You will find it always crowded. Specially in Summer Night people use to go there to enjoy ice golas.

Sidhpur is a major center of Vohra Muslims from few centuries. The Vohras are deeply attached to their native town Sidhpur. About a century ago, they built very beautiful mansions in a typical architectural style. It will be a wonderful experience to visit Voharwad.

History of Sidhpur


Sidhpur is a historical place in North Gujarat, India. It is located on the bank of Sarasvati River.

The ruler Sidhraj Jaising built his capital at Sidhpur in around 10th century. He built Shiva temple called Rudramahalaya and also brought large number of brahmins from Mathura and had them settled here. In 12th century Muhammed Ghori destroyed the town on his way to Somnath. Later on in 15th century the place was brought under the Mugharl rule by Akbar.
